Cold Breath On My Toes

Winter blows snow

In my boots

My toes tremble

Look for a warm

Fire.

The snow blanket

Makes even shotgun shacks

Beautiful.

Deep breaths air

Go to my head

Giddy with delight

Joy.

Big Valley Boy

Time travels decades

Trading the California heat

For the whisper of cold breath

On his toes.
