For The Love Of Rain

It pelts the roof and the hungry ground

It makes the windows fog up

Plants do calisthenics to its droplets

Crane their stalks to absorb its healing power

When I was a young kid took off my boots

And ran with naked feet through puddles

Stamping and screaming like a wild thing

Much to my Mom’s displeasure

Kids are like that they will do crazy things

For the love of rain.
