Ribbon In The Sky

There is a huge cloud ribbon

Hanging in a sky so blue

That it looks fake

It goes from puffy white

To fiery red

Nevada Sky

That can turn

From beautiful

To jet black rain

In just a moment

My friend Doc

He said it best

“If you don’t like the weather in Reno

Just wait five minutes,”

My friend Doc is a smart man

But I’d never play cards with him

He can make a deck dance in his hand

He is a card magician

Just like God is a weather magician

The ribbon in the sky

If proof enough of that

But tomorrow may bring

Snow and ice

Bare trees naked and defenseless

In the howling wind

The mystery of weather

Refusing to be tamed.
