Sometimes

Sometimes I look at you

Time stands still

We are that very poor

But happy couple

Married decades ago

When Disco was on the

Rise

Sometimes the sparkle

In your eyes

Washes away all the pain

The surgeries, cancer, pain issues

You are the radiant young woman

I loved then and love still

Despite the hard times

Sometime fights

We stand as one

Because love is stronger

Than the march of time

Stronger than wrinkles

My once dark brown hair

Now a dizzying white

Love is stronger than all of it

It will carry us through

I’m glad we still hold hands

Worry about each other

When we are apart

Sometimes I look at you

And time stands still.
